NETWORK STORM DAMAGE - CUMBRIA, SCOTLAND AND
NORTHERN IRELAND
Responding to recent storm damage in the north of the country,
our supplier Openreach has declared a 'Matters beyond Our
Reasonable Control' (MBORC) status for Scotland and Cumbria.
What does this mean for you?
It means that if your business is located in one of the
following areas you may experience delays in getting reported
faults resolved:
- Highlands & Islands
- North East Scotland
- Tayside & Fife
- South East Scotland
- West Central Scotland
- South West Scotland
- Cumbria
- Northern Ireland
Repair volumes across the regions are currently extremely high
and this MBORC has been declared to cover all faults caused by
storm damage.
We are working with Openreach to understand the impact on
provisioning timescales. Their current forecast is that lead-times
in affected areas may increase (potentially up to 28 working days
in worse hits areas). Working with Openreach, we're endeavouring to
bring the fault levels back down to a normal working level.
Openreach have increased resource capacity in the affected areas
through the use of overtime, movement of staff from unaffected
areas and use of contractors.
Gamma's support desk is open 24x7, 365 days a year so if you
require an urgent update or need to speak to us regarding your
fault please call the team on 0845 521 5000, option 2
Clearly this in a challenging situation and we will continue to
keep you updated on progress and inform when the MBORC is
resolved.
